Day of National Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and Genocide of the Belarusian People
2024-06-22
June 22 is one of the saddest dates in the history of Belarus - the Day of National Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and the genocide of the Belarusian people.
The city of Zhodino joined the All-Belarusian minute of silence. To honor the memory of the liberating soldiers and all the fallen leadership of the city, grateful residents and guests of our city came to a requiem meeting at the memorial sign in honor of the liberation of the city of Zhodino from the Nazi invaders. The rector of the Church of the Holy Archangel Michael, Archpriest Andrei Evdokimov, performed a prayer service for all those who died during the Great Patriotic War and the victims of the genocide of the Belarusian people. Today we are increasingly aware of the value of a peaceful life. We honor and preserve our traditions, conquer new heights. It depends on each of us what our tomorrow will be like. Our duty is to protect and preserve the peace bequeathed to us. We bow our heads to honor, valor and patriotism. We mourn for everyone who, at the cost of their lives, fulfilled their sacred duty, defending their Fatherland in those harsh years!
